Apple HomeView, HomePod mini 2 and Apple TV 4K: Everything Apple Announced at 'Welcome Home'
Apple has stepped into the smart home in a big way. On October 13, 2026, at its 'Welcome home' launch in New York, the company introduced a new smart display called HomeView, a second-generation HomePod mini and a new Apple TV 4K, all built around its upgraded Siri AI. CNBC notes it was the first launch outside the iPhone since John Ternus took over as CEO from Tim Cook in September.
Apple HomeView: the new smart home hub
HomeView pairs a 7-inch Liquid Retina display with a speaker base, joined by a stainless steel hinge that tilts the screen. It is powered by the A18 chip and comes in silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray, plus a wall-mounted version in space gray and silver. Both versions cost $299. It recognizes up to six people by their face and gives each one a personal Home Screen, and it can show up to nine camera feeds at once. Preorders are open now, with availability from November 13.
Wall mounts are sold separately from Schneider Home: $59.95 for the USB-C version, $79.95 for the AC wired version, and $129.95 for a PoE version arriving in early 2027.
HomePod mini 2 and Apple TV 4K
HomePod mini 2 costs $149, up from the current $129 model, and ships October 30 in pink, green, blue, white and midnight. It has an S10 chip, a new Sound Glow light effect and four-speaker surround sound when paired with Apple TV 4K. One catch: Siri AI will not be on it at launch and will arrive later in a software update.
The new Apple TV 4K costs $299 and is available from November 13. It gets a faster A19 chip, built-in microphones for hands-free Siri, more storage and Wi-Fi 7, according to MacRumors.
Apple Home Collection
Apple also announced its first lineup of smart home accessories, including cameras, thermostats and a lock, designed together with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. They work with HomeView, HomePod and Apple TV. The collection arrives from December, with some accessories following in early 2027.
The fine print
Siri AI is the star of the launch, but it comes with conditions. Personal context features, like pulling details from your Calendar and Messages, need an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad. Setup of HomeView also needs a compatible iPhone or iPad. HomeView is not on sale in the European Union because Siri AI is not yet available there. Apple says it is working with the EU on a path forward.
