GPT-6 Intelligent UI: ChatGPT Now Builds Interactive Interfaces Around Your Question
OpenAI launched GPT-6 with a feature called Intelligent UI on October 7, 2026, and it changes what a ChatGPT answer can look like. Instead of replying with the same text-heavy format every time, ChatGPT can now build an interactive interface around the question you ask.
What Intelligent UI actually does
Responses can include charts, diagrams, forms, buttons, maps, calculators, games and other interactive elements generated directly inside the chat. GPT-6 decides which format fits the request, and it can start showing a response while it is still reasoning or using tools in the background.
Who gets which model
According to reporting based on OpenAI's announcement, GPT-6 Sol powers ChatGPT for Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users, while Free and Go users get GPT-6 Luna. The rollout covers the Chat experience, not the models behind Work and Codex. OpenAI also says GPT-6 Instant begins answering about 44 percent sooner on average than GPT-5.6 Instant for questions that need web searches, based on its own internal testing.
Why it matters
OpenAI says more than 1.2 billion people now use ChatGPT every week. At that scale, a shift from text answers to generated interfaces could blur the line between chatbot, search engine and app. Traditional software ships fixed screens built ahead of time; Intelligent UI points toward screens assembled around each person's task in the moment.
Benchmark claims in launch announcements come from the company itself, so independent testing will matter. But the product direction, interfaces generated on demand, is the real story to watch as competitors respond.
