Who is backing it
Lead investors include ARCH Venture Partners, Spark Capital, Khosla Ventures, Index Ventures, General Catalyst and Bezos Expeditions, according to reported transaction disclosures.
What Oratomic is building
The company is developing quantum systems based on reconfigurable neutral-atom arrays combined with advanced error-correction techniques. Its stated goal is utility-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computers, machines that can run long, useful calculations without errors overwhelming the result.
Why the valuation stands out
Oratomic has not yet shown it can build a commercially useful machine at scale, which makes the number striking. Still, the round fits a broader pattern: investors increasingly see quantum as moving from laboratory physics toward a systems-engineering and manufacturing race, and several other quantum companies announced large financings or manufacturing partnerships the same week.
